Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Trains From Lyon Airport To Moutiers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We will be arriving at Lyon St Exupery at 13.30 on Wed 8th Dec and travelling from there to Val Thorens.

We are intending to take the train and it looks like we have 2 options:-

1) Travel from St Exupery TGV station; or
2) Travel from Lyon Part Dieu station.

However, 1) seems to have limited ticket availability (on Trainline.com).

2) gives us more availability but means we have to get there from the airport.

Can anyone advise please if it is straightforward to get from the airport to Lyon Part Dieu? I understand that there is a tram that covers the route but I am struggling to find detailed info/ timetables.

Thanks in advance.

The Rhônexpress takes you from Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport Station to Lyon Part-Dieu station:

I've never caught it, but was looking it recently as part of a plan to get to the PSB.

sugarmoma666,

Thank you. That's very helpful.

It's interesting to note that the return tickets for our half hour trip to Lyon Part Dieu station cost the same as our return train tickets for the 3 hour journey from LPD to Moutiers - about €28 each.

Bergmeister, yes, the RhoneExpress is rather expensive, but works very well. Easy access at airport and finishes right by the rail station.
It is a pity that the service from St Expury to Tarentaise is so limited.
