Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Austria back to Nine months

This worrying, https://www.thelocal.at/20211105/austria-new-covid-rules-restrictions-2g-unvaccinated-ffp2-green-pass/

From November 8th 2021 "People will only be considered fully vaccinated for nine months after their second dose of a Covid-19 vaccine"

If you are from the UK how do we prove our proper vaccination status because as it stands the NHS app doesn't record the booster jab.

"..NHS app doesn't record the booster jab..."

But it does -- It appears here - NHS app/Gp health record/consultations and events. Not 'scannable', but you could show the page to anyone interested...

Yes, it does but I can't imagine for one minute this will be acceptable by border control staff. I think the only hope is that the NHS app will be updated but I'm not holding my breath

@Alan1974, border staff aren’t interested in apps. A printout with details of your vaccination is fine. I’m sure the app will be updated soon, but you’re still generally easier to process travelling with a printed document anyway.

It’s not worrying, it’s to encourage a vaccine hesitant nation to get their boosters.

Yes, I understand the motive behind this and I hope you're right but I won't hold breath on getting the App updated any time soon.

There is already a thread on Austria entry requirements.
Assuming 1974 is your year of birth, You better get your skiing done in January, as it is a toss up if under 50 booster or 12+ 2nd jab or 12- 1st jab will be next.

Might be a moot point as UK folk who dont have boosters could find travelling difficult https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/nov/07/uk-government-could-restrict-travel-people-who-refuse-covid-boosters .

The app is being updated to take account of many people now receiving more than two jabs. I was told in early October that it would take a maximum of 10 weeks so it should certainly be done my mid-late December at the latest.

My vaccination status is all over the place due to being on the novavax trial so I get updated on these kind of things.

Agreed. The border policeman at Munich Airport was more than happy with my printed copy he didn’t scan anything just looked at it carefully. Same in a restaurant yesterday, on entry the lady’s scanner wouldn’t work so she just had sight of the dose 2 of 2 on my pass in my Apple Wallet and that was fine. I had a paper version in my purse just in case she wanted it. They are not idiots and perfectly sensible in my experience.

The app will definitely be updated with the booster. People in the government like skiing and travelling too. I’m not worried about it in the slightest. Especially as my booster shows in my Patient Access App anyhow and I could print that out if I wanted to. Like I said people don’t seem to be overly fussed with scanning the QR codes as long as they see some sort of evidence. Not so far anyway. This is Austria and Germany though I can’t speak for elsewhere!

Just jumping in here. I’m due to arrive in Salzburg on the 11th December, that is exactly 271 days after my second vaccine. I had my booster in September, but it’s not on the app yet. I have paper copies of my vaccination letters from work ( NHS hospital) to my GP. I’m sure the app will update at sometime, but not confident when. Hopefully paper copies will be enough.

@Yorksboy, You can get the details of your booster via the app. It's in your GP Health record, under consultations and events. Bit of a faff finding it if you happen to have a lot of entries, but there if you ever need it.

If you load your code into one of the EU apps, then the Tac and Green pass show the date of your vaccines, the CH one shows as "valid with an identity document", but no dates. All of these are supposedly acceptable throughout the EU.

Worth downloading as options.

Mine is in the Medicines section (acute) in either the NHS app or the Patient Access app.

@brianatab, yes I have the GP entry from my notes. However, (and this is my point) these entries do not have a QR code. This means you cannot load the booster into the various EU apps. Unless anyone knows differently?

Correct.

However, there is no need to mess about with other countries' apps. If you have the code in the NHS app, use that. If you don't, in the case of Austria anyway, print out whatever confirmation you do have.

Hopefully the NHS app will be updated in time - it is more convenient than loads of paper. Thanks everyone.

I'm sure it will be. However, for anyone flying, it is faster to hand over printouts of relevant documents than to keep switching between phone apps. Also, good as a backup generally if you have a phone with a dodgy battery when it gets a bit cold.

I’ve only got one piece of paper though, folded up and in my purse. I need that with me anyway so it’s not as if you need a lever arch file full of the stuff, don’t worry.

Definitely, and unless they point the scanner just so it doesn’t scan anyway! Mine worked just now outside a pub before I went in using my pass in my Apple Wallet but that was the first time it worked. Otherwise I’ve got the paper one just one piece of A4 in my purse-simple.
