Short notice I know, but I'm very seriously considering getting away for this coming season, or at least as much of it as I can visa/90 days limit permitting.
I've found a few possible options for accommodation, but just thought I'd post here to see if anyone has anything anywhere that they're considering or actively looking to let. I'm a house trained 55 year old, ex-regular poster here although I've been much more a lurker then a poster for many years; some of you might even remember my season blog from Val Thorens back in 07/08. Primarily just for me although likely to have a few visitors at points throughout the season.

With the view to getting pretty close to the 90 days - let's say >80 on snow - what sort of budget are you thinking?

@admin, Tbh, I've not really got a fixed budget. I've just (as in last week) decided not to renew an ongoing work contract and the opportunity to do another season jumped out at me. Living costs will be what they will be, I'll not be eating out much unless I've got visitors, and, although I'm not going to deny I'll have a few beers from time to time, I'll not be out partying every night either. Realistically it boils down to how much I can justify (to myself) spending on an apartment, bearing in mind there is plenty of stuff down in Brides Les Bains for say 3.5k or thereabouts. I'm happy to spend more than that but accept I'll probably compromise somewhere in terms of resort, size and standard of apartment and specific location of apartment within the resort, especially seeing as I'm very late to the party for this season.

I wondered if that was where you were heading (literarily as well as literally), and, as appealing as it sounds, I'm not sure this season would be the time to try and prove or disprove the existence of such a mythical object, especially this close to the start of the season to begin organising stuff.
Hoping to finalise some accommodation in the next couple of days, and may (fingers crossed) be located in the same area as one or another of the bashes.
