Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mayrhofen - Group Lessons for Intermediate

Hello,

I can ski reds and blues reasonably. Does anyone have any experience of taking group courses in Mayrhofen at this level?

I've looked at the recommended schools and there is a 5 days group package from SMT at a great price but I'm worried at the group size and that'll we'll be stuck on only blue and reds all the time it would be a waste of time. The other recommended school only has group courses for beginners: https://skimayrhofen.com/skikurse/group-lessons/

SMT has a very good reputation/ What's wrong with trying to improve your blue and red run skills so that you can ski them well rather than just reasonably?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It's a big time commitment, 4 hours every day for 5 days is almost all of my time for skiing for this trip. I'm worried that the group size will be large and we'll move at the pace of the worst member.

If you're worried about the group size then why not just drop them an email and ask how many people they allow in a group?

The level in a group will always be mixed but I've never had a group instructor who didn't know how to manage the situation for the benefit of everyone in the group and I've probably had over 20 weeks of group lessons over the years.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We used SMT and booked a private instructor for 3 days for my daughter (due to her being ASD and Dyspraxic we have to book private lessons).

I doubt the group will be a waste of time - I learnt with them MANY years ago and they were proactive in making sure you were in the right group then and sure they would still.

However if you don’t want that much of your trip in lessons why not book 2 or 3 days of private?

Thanks, it's about cost, 3 days of private are EUR726, I'd have to add equipment rental on top. The group package is EUR290 for 5 days and 6 days of equipment rental included.
