Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Good ski area.

Slow lifts.

But short runs.

I assume you're being sarky, as the second and third comments completely contradict the first.

@WhiteMan, I think you will find @denfinella is usually a reliable guide - he is much appreciated (by me at least) for the way he explores different resorts and writes them up quite comprehensively.

Here is his blow-by-blow account of skiing Espace Diamant https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=135691&highlight=diamant

Nah, it's actually that both are true re ED.

Espace Diamant has a lot of short runs, and with the exception of Bellasta and one of the multiple new-ish chairs up to Bisanne, and one on the Flumet side of Les Saisies (forget the name), the lifts are not detachable six-packs etc. That doesn't mean it's not a pretty good linked set of stations. But if you want thigh-burning reds or blacks you won't find them in the ED. It's excellent for intermediates, the views of Mont Blanc can be stunning, and it's big enough so that you can easily spend a week there.

@Dr John, no, I was being serious. In my opinion slow lifts and short runs don't necessarily mean a bad ski area.

My trip report for the Espace Diamant is linked above, but to summarise, I found a good variety of skiing and sense of travel, lots of trees for bad weather days, surprisingly reliable snow for its height (statistically better than Megeve and the Portes du Soleil, I believe), beautiful scenery and - above all - very, very quiet slopes away from the Les Saisies part.

I would rate the ski area as better than Megeve (but not as good as Megeve + Les Contained combined).

The short nature of my first reply was because I was (and still am) suspicious that WhiteMan is actually Whitegold (hence the reply in Whitegold style!).
