Poster: A snowHead

Had our Tax Fonciere bill, and having trouble paying it. They suggest going onto impot.fr website to pay it, but as far as I can see it's impossible to create an account there without a French mobile phone number ( it wants to text back a code ). Anyone got any ideas? We don't have a French bank account either.

Just set the impots account up last week to pay our first bill... I managed with my uk number 44 - did a bank transfer from our french bank account. There is also a phone number on the bill for telephone payments.

I found you didn't need to set up an account, it needs a bit of searching but you can find a link saying "payer en ligne" or something similar and then enter your tax and bank details. The money isn't actually debited from your account until the "pay by" date on the bill.

The bank details need to be a French bank though don't they ?

Ah, probably. We have one so haven't tried anything else.
Though I can't see why it wouldn't work with one of the foreign currency accounts like Revolut or Wise - clearly it would have to be something that is set up to accept debits in Euros. In practice I assume most British with a French place (hence charged tax) would have opened some sort of appropriate account when buying their property.

I pay by monthly DD, so I may be wrong but thought you could pay with a bank card.

Use the link provided by @Ken Dolman about four posts down in the link from @Weathercam's post. As described you will have to referesh the page once loaded. After that you do not need a telephone number, and you can enter IBAN from non French account. All you need is your French tax ID, then your Fonciere Bill number.
