Poster: A snowHead

I’ve got the chance of a good deal in a b&b hotel in this resort this coming mid January, I’d really like to know what the evening eating out options are like here, nothing fancy, take aways or bar meals would suffice. Is this a good base to enjoy the Dolomites and get some cruising sightseeing in? Thanks in advance

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Don't know whereabouts you would be, but we stayed in an apartment at Alba, close to the new lift linking into the Sella Ronda. With that lift to the Sella Ronda, plus the one the other way accessing the quieter Val Di Fassa area it was a great location for skiing. Downside was that after skiing it was absolutely dead - think tumbleweeds blowing down the main street! There were a small number of restaurants and pizzerias, but no apres ski bars.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@RobinS, thanks for that, I’d be in the centre of Alba so convenient for the lifts, I’m not too bothered about the apre, a takeaway pizza and a couple pints in the hotel would do me as long as the skiing was good

@rizzotherock, Purely skiing wise it's a really good location. We were there fairly soon after the Col de Rossi cablecar first opened which dramatically improved access to more skiing. Did think at the time that maybe that would encourage more bars and restaurants to open up.
