Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anybody done this? Interested in any opinions. We have a Whippet and normally drive Scotland to London, stay overnight with one of our kids and then go Folkestone - Eurotunnel - Chatel, which takes us about 12-13 hrs including stops.

We did Rotterdam -> Hull. There were only 3 dog friendly cabins and we didn’t get allocated one (first come first served?). Pooch had to go in a cage next to the cars and didn’t like it one bit!

I have used them in the past, very basic bunk accommodation with vinyl floors. Small exercise area with a sand pit for them to poop in.
Haven't used the Hull ones but I believe you need to phone to book them. We did visit them before they were open but as we moved to Austria last year haven't had the need for them.

Alas they weren’t taking phone calls during covid times and no reply to email

@BobinCH, they were taking calls, when I went back to UK and came back here I had credit from a cancelled crossing. I had to cal them to cancel and to use the credit. Because I had no wife or dogs with me the credit nearly paid for both crossings.

Beware. I seem to recall DFDS charge premium phone rates for customer service.
But I have been able to deal with them through their chat service in the past.

It is often possible to find a non premium rate equivalent if you look hard enough online. Eurotunnel is one example who until very recently wouldn't accept Tesco vouchers online. I did find a normal number to use, although now apparently they are accepting vouchers online.

I believe DFDS have asked for my number and called me from chat in the past.

Yes, ever done it a couple of times with 2 whippets.
Cabins are fine - the usual.
Dog facilities almost non existent - ours have to be persuaded to wee and have held onto their poos until on dry land ( we're more relaxed about that now but the first crossing was horrendous as they kept asking to go outside but the "outside" wasnt outside enough so they didn't wee....
Having said that, it's better than driving all the way down through Britain, and in the winter is almost cost effective!

I've heard one of the boats has better facilities than the other - think it's the "king" rather than the "Princess"
