Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arabba Sella Ronda on a snowboard

 Poster: A snowHead

Not really considering the birthday bash (hence not posting there) but wondered how suitable Arabba and the Sella Ronda are on a board. In terms of flat and uphill sections, and nasty drag lifts etc. The maps make the valley look quite flat or even uphill.

Also, does anyone know of any review sites that tend to cover this type of info? Most reviews around the web only give a nod to snowboarders and generally that simply means information about parks or prevalence of natural features (if lucky).

For example when I went to Flaine, we had a good time overall. It has great lifts but it got pretty frustrating with all the flat sections and narrow bits that required speed to get out/up the other side. Especially at the top and bottom of the main bowl and link runs into the other resort zones. I hardly saw a mention of this anywhere before I got there (must be annoying to skiiers too, would have thought, but at least they have poles?).

Arabba doesnt have many flat bits, a bit of a run out coming back to into town maybe but that can be bypassed.

The anticlockwise sella has a flat bit - better on a board than skies as you can just walk.

Drags can be pretty much entirely avoided (the average age of a lift on the SR is about 2 years wink )

@silentice, I struggle to remember runs in resorts I've been to but I do remember long flat greens in Courchevel. The weather was warm so the snow was sticky, had to walk on those!

Sella Ronda out of Arraba took me 2 hours on a board (riding solo) and I wasn't any more than an intermediate at the time. I think I went both ways with only a few minutes in it either way, first thing in the morning and no queues of more than a minute or two. I don't remember walking anywhere.
