Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@JohnMo, no mention of how long this "time out" will be....

No. They keep emphasising “temporary” but it is hard to see how they get that back up and running. This year crevasses are all around the piste and even creeping onto it. They need snow to fill them. Plus they need snow for the piste. When (if?!) the freezing level drops there will be snow again. Fresh summer snow up there is lovely to ski on but it just doesn’t usually come in big enough quantities to cover the glaciers, fill the crevasses and make the pistes skiable again. Look at this photo from today. That would usually be all white and there would be snow to collect to bring over to the pistes.

Serious cold and snow will not return until late September. We still might have decent autumn skiing but this summer is looking like a write off. We need to pray that we get a decent amount of snow in 22/23 or we could be having the same discussion next summer.

Incredibly sad picture.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Agreed - very sobering.

I hope so as we decided to book for a those few days in late October. Definitely squeaky bum time!

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Well a bit of snow is always nice. But not exactly a game changer.

@JohnMo,

As we are knocking on the door of September- is it time for the 2022/2023 thread?
