Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

My review of Alta: go there.

Love Alta but not impressed with this review. Video was by Joe Paycheck helmet cam, and the day they shot it the place was skied out, so we watch narrow gullies and approaches fly by instead of what we go to Alta for. "It can get hard to see in bad visibility", "base areas can get crowded on busy days" and a few other useless observations suggest it should have been half as long. I don't mean to be unkind, but the point of this exercise escapes me.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They are a video capsule for the purposes of those who have never been there or have forgotten what a place was like, not for regular visitors.

And while some things may be cliches that doesn't stop them being true - the line at Collins can be crazy particularly on a powder day

I have the sticker already.

I haven't watched the video, but as you're promoting it here, how's it bought and paid for? I mean, do
the resort pay (or subsidize) people to produce stuff like this, or is the money coming from
somewhere else? Kind of important as this is a "peer to peer" forum, so if you're selling something,
and those logos suggest you are, then maybe we should know what it is before we click/ buy it?

Thanks for asking. As of now, these videos are self-funded by the team, and we paid out of pocket to visit Alta in December and March of this year. We are not affiliated with any resort.

We're currently focused on building out content over turning a profit, but eventually, we hope to generate revenue through affiliate relationships (though not directly with ski resorts) and YouTube ad revenue.

@Dave of the Marmottes, where is it that lines on base area lifts are not crazy on a powder day?

At Alta if you get up to the base area before the canyon road is closed. My last day there was like that.

Places where you don't need to lap back to base every lap i.e. that spread the crowds around upper mountain lifts?
