Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boot seller / fitter for a bloke with many odd injuries!

So, having (hopefully!) 3 weeks of fun in the snow next year, I really should get some new boots.

For most I'm sure this isn't much of a question, but..... I am a little broken! I have some interesting stuff going on with ankles and calf muscles. My lower legs are like little and large, and my ankles are at their best when they hardly move, and are funny shapes!

So, if I'm going to get new boots - the current ones are pre broken era - I need someone who will fit them to a very odd chap Laughing

Can you recommend somewhere with a good selection and a fitter who will go the extra mile to make something work?

Thanks for any suggestions

Robin

Ps, based Southampton but happy to travel a bit if it's worth it!

Colin (@CEM) at Solutions for Feet always gets lots of recommendations on here.

I (Including Hubby and children) have had good experiences with the fitting service at Snowtrax which is significantly closer to you. Maybe have a chat with them, they are very professional there and may well point you to Colin anyway

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You may need special boots. Companies such as "Dale" and "Strolz" offer these but as said above, I would go to Colin @ Solutions4feet first.

Another recommendation for Colin.
He knows his stuff and doesn't give up easily .... speaking as another bloke with weird feet!

@ciderinsport, the other thing about CEM is that he's not looking to sell you a pair of boots. They need to fit.

My son was sent away to work on his ankle flexibility (calm stretches!) before coming back for a fitting the following season. Colin said he could get him into a pair but they wouldn't be right . Next season he was back, fitted, some work done on the boots and they are now put on, clip in and ski, no moaning about pain which was a constant in his rental boots.
