When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Great spring conditions at the moment. Got another month left of resort access but with a good base, backcountry should be on until November

Season is still going - nearly 5 months and the spring snow is really good at the moment. A couple from today. Managed to slide in another hell day end of next week too if the weather holds out Happy. Looking like the last ski area will close on 24th October, but the snow base is so good, some foot powered mid summer Christmas turns could be on the cards.

5 months in, had a spring storm this week, got up into Mt Cook NP for a heli day. Will be living on pot noodles for another month, but it was so worth it Very Happy Going shanks pony tomorrow.

Squeezed one more day touring in today. Needing a bit of creativity and effort to get to the snow, and too warm to be putting in that much effort. Think today was realistically the last day of the season, which for me has been 5 months exactly. Time to chase trout and catch waves. It's been a really good winter here. 7 months until it starts again Very Happy
