Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

luckysmartie, I have e-mailed Eurostar and they replied "early July". I will e-mail them again in mid-June to see if there is a more definite date then.

This link seems to show that Eurostar snowtrain services went on sale on 5th July last year.

I've not skied there, but have spent a couple of days there in the autumn. Pretty village at the end of a long drive up the Bozel valley. If you get bored there it's not too far to Courchevel for a change of scene.

Yes - stayed at the PTT lodge on a twinning holiday between BT and France Telecom people.

You can get a bus to access La Plagne. Skiing in Pralognan is not extensive, but it is a lovely little town.

Thanks for the replies regards Pralognan ,we are in a mixed party including beginners and we also fancy some x-country based around a more authentic village with access to both la plagne and courchevel as we will have our own transport ,the resort seems to to be very proud of what it has to offer with a long list of top class sportsmen icluding Sebastien Amiez so hopefully the skiing wont be too easy -i will keep you informed.

After having said I wouldn't book a trip until I had the pot off my leg for the currently broken ankle, I got the Ski Esprit brochure thru a few days ago and realised that with just Hannah (5yr old daughter) and me going this year (wife doesn't ski) that the opportunities for good discounts on 1 parent and 1 child were limited I decided to test the water, found only limited availability, so I've booked to goto Tignes 14th Jan at their Chalet Hotel Terril Blanc - Hannah goes for free (if you don;t count all the lessons and child care etc), so I reckon I've got a good deal all told. It will be three seasons ago since the last time I went to Tignes so looking forward to going back, hopefully they'll have built a new Palafour lift by then! Counting the months already.

Christmas they finish on Dec 22nd, return to school on Tues Jan 9th. We will be having a rish down to Serre Che once school finishes, so we can be in time to put up a tree, and get some food in.

I have booked some flights to Girona half term week feb 2007 (18.99 each way!) Off to go skiing in Andorra...Soldeu I think...only prob is, I cant seem to book any hotel accommodation as its too early..tried to call a few hotels direct but they all sell to agencies. Was thinking about getting an apartment but with two kids in tow hotels tend to make things easier. Does anyone know at what point do the lastminute.coms and the alpharooms type booking agencies let you start booking for next year? Or does anyone know of anywhere nice that I could try? My kids are 9 and 11.

Hi badgerdot and welcome to snowheads for 20 posts ago! snowHead

It might be worth starting a new topic on that one as you'll probably get a few more replies to a specific request. I've only ever done packages to France and Italy to date, so not much help.

I've just booked 4 flights from Stansted to Friedrichshafen with Ryanair for £600 which includes 4 x 20kg baggage and one ski bag (which will have 2 pairs of skis and poles in it) for 23rd - 30th December. Allegedly Friedrichshafen is a 2 hour transfer to Ischgl, where I'm booking a hotel separately. It should be a happy Christmas!
