Looking at the trees its not that high. It looks a bit like a face at La Thuile.
My next guess was Tower Gully but didn’t want to just keep going along the mountain. The tower ridge/gully combo is a classic. Having done tower ridge from the valley I can’t imagine lugging ski gear all that way walking in ski boots.

Pretty certain that's one of the Gullys above the Comborciere piste in Les Arcs. Don't know the name of the actual line but the one that comes in from the left halfway down has been the scene of a few epic tumbles.

Re the walk in - boots on pack and walk in trainers to the snow line is the way to go.

@offpisteskiing, my second longest day in the mountains was 4 of us camping below the cic hut one winter. After a quick ascent of tower ridge one of my mates broke his leg near the top on the way down. Pre mobile phones we ran down to the yha to phone the rescue. We met the rescue at the distillery. Had a land rover ride a bit of the way back up. Walked back up to the victim. Helped carry him back down to the landrover then back up to the cic. Happy days.

Yes, sorry to be a bit late coming on line, but that was above the Comborciere piste and is known as the Comborciere Couloir.
Even better and much longer is if you continue (to the left in the photo) along the ridge. At the end straight ahead is the Pointe du Four couloir(see below) which I already put-on the other Guess thread.

@snowball, That Pointe du Four couloir is the one where I had an epic fail, recognised it from your photo (when I looked at it upside down).
Next one, very dodgy unless conditions are spot on.

Not Italy, but in the Alps and is accessible (with caution) if you take a ride up on the Ditch Lift already. I did find another reference to it on a Snowheads forum from 2015.

Never heard of the Ditch Lift, if it is a thing. Looks like the main slope has possibly been swept by avalanches in the past. I'll guess Switzerland, but really have no idea.

@snowball, If I wrote it in the local language, you'd just google it! Not Switzerland. It features in a well known Off-Piste guide book for the area in question. Or from a fellow Snowhead:
"There are three entrances - the best is high above the small tree, which gives a lovely powder entrance - beware slides - a second round the tree to the right hand side, and a third which requires a launch - only to be attempted under exceptionally stable conditions. "

So if it's the alps, but not France, Italy or Switzerland, then it's most likely Austria, as I'm not convinced there are 'well known Off-Piste guide books' for Germany or Slovenia, though I may be wrong.
Maybe somewhere in the Arlberg, as there's an off-piste guide to the region ?

@viv, Getting warm. Most people take a different lift to ski steeps in this area. My earlier clue used Google translate for those lacking the lingo. Maybe if I give you the "local" translation for the access lift, someone can close in. The lift is more accurately called "The Beautiful Grave", which is what you'll need if you get this Shute wrong.

@Arno, ah yes....only time I’ve been buried below the snow was in there! Luckily just below the surface but a big sluff slide and my ski pal saw it, skied in and pulled me out! I never even got time to pull the trigger, scary.
