I remember them dragging those metal contraptions up the drag lifts - they used to get very rutted. Courchevel has always had a good reputation for maintaining its pistes, both in winter and summer.

Precoursor to the avie balloon (strange balloon and cord thingy you mounted on a backpack in the 70's n 80's)- it's to mark where you are at, so your buddies can find you.

Ah, so like those flags on baby buggies and special supermarket trolleys for kids, so you can see where they are. I wonder how effective they were, I’d bet not very.
