Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We might need another clue!

1. Based on what I can see, it looks like a mid-height ski area (i.e. not a glacier) as you're above the tree line, but not far above.
2. Probably somewhere in the northern half of the Alps (if it is indeed the Alps!), as the main valley in the photo seems to be draining northwards (given the sun direction). But the Alpine ridge might be visible on the horizon.
3. Probably not the NW French Alps or Arlberg as you say "unexpectedly good powder days", and you would expect powder days in those regions.
4. Probably not the Tarentaise as the background is relatively undeveloped, and there aren't any deep valleys which are typical of the Tarentaise.
5. But then again, the trees look a little bit like the southern Alps Puzzled

So that narrows it down to less popular areas of N. France, N. Switzerland, Austria, or anywhere in the southern Alps Laughing

Should have been at either Jasna (Slovakia) or Kopaonik (Serbia) this year but of course it didn’t happen.
We try to manage two trips each season and go to a place we really like (San Vigilio) plus one that is generally off the radar or at least less well known to the British. Not necessarily small or unknown. Just less visited by the British. Serfaus and Abetone are also “on the list”. I don’t want to risk hijacking this thread but any other suggestions are welcome
