Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Agree entirely, thanks. Far too much rumour and conjecture on anti social media. As Trump loves to write "Fake News".

Which one??

Zug but the ones around where I tend to Ski Schwyz, Obwalden are all following each other closed December 22-29 so far let’s see after that.

Based on yesterday's travel ban, there'll be no skiing in Switzerland for Brits for the immediate future. Did anyone fly out for a trip before the travel ban came in place?

Yes, we flew out to Geneva last Saturday morning from tier 2. We got to Les Diablerets just as the UK announced the new restrictions... hopefully our flight back from Geneva on Saturday is still confirmed! We were already planning to isolate for 5 days and pay for a test when we get back. Very quiet on the slopes here, but have heard a few British accents here and there.

@sugarmoma666, yes, rather inconvenient for anyone who is currently out in Switzerland and intended travelling back to the UK within the next 10 days, they won't be able to! (that's assuming the quarantine period starts today and someone in quarantine is unable to travel to a Swiss airport to fly home, both reasonable assumptions I think, not that there may be any flights to the UK anyway).... Sad

@sugarmoma666, if you already in CH do have to isolate in your accommodation for 10 days ? No skiing?

@vipul - it looks like it (especially given the words "retroactive quarantine" in the title) ...
"Bern, 21.12.2020 - Following the discovery of a new, more contagious variant of the coronavirus in the UK and South Africa, the Federal Council today decided to take steps to prevent the further spread of this new virus strain. All persons who have entered Switzerland from these two countries since 14 December must go into quarantine for 10 days. The Federal Council has also introduced a general entry ban from today for all foreign nationals seeking to enter Switzerland from the UK and South Africa. This is intended in particular to stop travel from these countries for tourism purposes."

Yes. (Or maybe the balance of 10 days since you entered or were last in the UK... the headline statements make it look like it might be the full 10.)

It probably won’t be long. It feels very like last March here at the moment - lockdown imminent. Not to worry, we have our shoulder of pork in the freezer and all the trimmings for Christmas lined-up. We'll have a splendid Christmas regardless, within our little 5 person bubble.
