Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I've always thought skis could use an instruction manual, do away with instructors completely.

I have often thought that there really must be a huge market for wedge shaped "clip-ons" to fit under the skis, so as to make it easier to walk uphill whilst the ski stayed "level" as the wedge would cancel out the slope.

Do you think I could get a research grant to investigate? £21 million should do the trick (isn't that the size of the bung paid as a consultancy fee for helping a jewellery firm(???) get a contract to supply PPE)

Thixotropic ski wax. Comes in various colours (speed settings) . Because of its properties, the faster the ski goes the more sticky the wax becomes thus limiting it speed (hence the colours) so you can ski at a constant speed regardless of the gradient of the slope. If you choose your wax colour carefully you will be able to ski downhill without undertaking those turning techniques on any gradient because you speed will be governed, making it ideal for beginners and geriatric snowheads.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thixotropic ski wax “Plus”, it’s the ultimate wax as it’s a one way slide, no need to skin up, no slide back in drag lift stoppage.

Dehydrated water, much lighter for ski tourers and very simple, you only have to add melted snow.

Now that is an idea. Would it work with that lemon coloured snow as well?

@Mr.Egg, the bargain thread - which their products are - and starting a new thread to raise awareness?

TBF from all the crap that people try and peddle on this forum, this is a tangible product that is trying to prevent otherwise good quality ski gear end up in landfill.

Not if they were peddling ski pants with built ski tracers with velcro straps and arrows pointing to the direction of the skier/skis that would be something else NehNeh

What about trained pocket gophers that you ski with, and in an avalanche a contraption releases it, it tunnels to the surface creating an airway, then urinates on the surface to mark the area of burial!

A personal drone that spots you’ve been caught in a slide, picks up your beacon signal, alerts piste patrol, hovers and sprays the area with dye, lands then drops a small drilling rig to create an airway down to you, then hovers again so piste patrol can come and do the final extraction. What could go wrong?
