Poster: A snowHead

Hello Hivemind!
Very quick question - if I were to finish work in 1650 and my girlfriend were to finish work in Meribel forum at the same time, how long would it take for us to ski over to each other?
Due to the lift situation, is is possible that it's quicker going Courch -> Meribel than Meribel -> Courch or vice versa?
If it were to take too long to meet in one of the resorts, how long would it take to meet up in the middle?
Cheers!

If you ski over to each other you'll each be in the wrong place to meet.
Can't directly help but I'm sure the 3V website lists journey times for each lift then it's how fast do you each ski, breakdown allowance etc

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Probably a bit quicker from Meribel (Chaudanne) to 1650, as a single lift (Saulire Express) gets you directly to the ridge, and then you only need the Chanrossa or Roc Mugnier chairs to get to 1650. Going the other way is at least 3 lifts. But pehaps offset a bit by there being more distance to ski on the 1650 side.

I'm assuming that you will both be finishing work late morning to mid-day and then plan to ski together for the rest of the day. If that's correct, then in your position I would probably choose several different mid-points to meet on different days.
e.g. day 1 at the top of 1650 which is fairly easy to access from both starting points; day 2 at the top of Saulire and then ski around in Mottaret/Meribel; etc. There's lots of variations possible.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks guys.
All of the above are certainly options, but how long does it take as a rough guide? I'll have to be back for an afternoon shift and need to see if it's feasible depending on the time I have, whether we should meet half-way or whether we should forget about it and just enjoy days off.
So if I set off from 1650, how long until I'd arrive in Meribel at the bottom of Chaudanne? I've skiied it before, but never paid attention to the timings!
If we meet half way then that should be under an hour until we meet I think?

@AdamNotts, if you're not stopping and no queues I'd say 10 minutes for Sauliure Express, down Creux or Marmottes to Roc Mugnier 10 - 15 min 5 minutes up Roc Mugnier and < 10 mins to C1650. The other way 8 min up the Belair gondola, scoot past the bottom of Signal chair and up the little drag down to Aguille Fruite 10 mins? Aguille Fruite 5 -8 mins(?) 5 min to Suisse, 5-8 min on Suisse, 10 mins to Chaudanne at a good pace. Apologies for any spelling mistakes.

@AdamNotts, 30 minutes if you met half way, somewhere like the bottom of Vizelle lift above Courchevel 1850.
An hour should be plenty to get from 1650 to the Chaudanne in Meribel.
Ts and Cs apply.

Depends on your level of course but if you're a fastish seasonnaire skier then I'd say the actual lift/ski time is 25 mins Meribel>C1650 and 35 mins C1650>Meribel. But you'll mess around for at least another 5 minutes getting to the first lift (Saulire Express) in Meribel so there's probably nothing in it overall. The most equal meeting point timewise (15-20 mins each) is probably the junction between Chanrossa and Marmottes lifts in C1850 on Creux piste. Easy to decide which way to go from there too.

Thanks guys - helps us plan. So theoretically a nice lunch should be possible in either resort before afternoons.
