Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hintertux October

 Poster: A snowHead

We are thinking of maybe going to Hintertux for October half term (leaving 20th) - should we be okay for skiing ? Thinking morning skiing, afternoon exploring/mountain biking ? Any other suggestions of things to do would be welcome ! Ideally we would stay in Hintertux to make life easier but it doesn’t seem like there are many options, thinking we would eat in etc. so do not need much. Any advice really welcome !

Should have said we are reasonably experienced skiers - reds fine, black if we can persuade my daughter !

@Hicksviv, game of chance in October. Sometimes good, sometimes dreadful.

@Hicksviv, there will be very few places open to eat out in October. You may find a few of the hotels along the valley open but restaurants will be limited to those near to Hintertux by the lifts. In Mayrhofen the pizza place and possibly the steak place will be open. Probably nothing else. If you are planning to ski everyday then Mayrhofen is 20 mins drive so not that convenient and you would need a car (although that’s what we do). There are a few people on here that could recommend a hotel near Hintertux or in Vorderlanersbach. Somewhere with a pool would at least add some activity in case of wet weather.

I would think the extent of skiing to be a gamble. Could be ice skating or powder!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We stayed here: - https://www.auenhotel.at/en.html . Its in Auen 5 min walk to centre of Lanersbach, 1o mins to Hintertux with bus stop outside - can highly recommend. The pool has a swim jet device that made it a bit more interesting.

@Hicksviv, I've stayed several times at the Hotel Jaeger in Lanersbach. Great food (Half Board includes an afternoon cakes buffet as well as evening dinner) and a good spa/pool complex. Skibus stop to Hintertux is situated about 100 metres from the hotel.
