Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Volkl Gotama's 05/06 183cm still on sale?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've been skiing Volkl Gotama's this season and have really fallen in love with them as their so damn versatile and have next to no sidecut which I really like.
I was really dissapointed to see what Volkl have done to the 06/07 Goaty so am really keen to bag myself a spare pair of the 05/06 model before they're gone to save for when I need to replace the ones i've got.

If anyone knows where I can get hold of a pair in 183cm length would be VERY grateful for the info.

Cheers,

Chris

rockyrobin, I'll do a bit of detective work for ya. I presume that you want them 'in the flat'?

rockyrobin, Try this: http://www.sport-conrad.com/englisch/2A_00_Detail.asp?Kategorie=04-FRSK&page=&ArtNummer=70001018

I can recommend Sport Conrad, their service was great when I got my M:EX's from them - & don't be put off by their 'unsecure' looking payment page, it's ok.

spyderjon, Hello mate. Yeah in the flat be great. Cheers for the offer to help me out finding a pair. I will be so distressed if I cannot satisfy my need for long fat black planks with no sidecut Sad

Did probably my last run down the back of Mont Fort today. Sadly the snow is changing really quick so reckon going to be a struggle to find good snow from hereon off-piste unless the temps drop and we get a surprise dump. Day of rest tomorrow chilling out then guess will have to go sliding the slush Shocked

rockyrobin, www.telemark-pyrenees.com also have some but in 176 only.

spyderjon, Cheers mate. Yeah I looked on Telemark Pyrenees but 176 is too short.
You've made it far too easy for me Laughing Just ordered a pair from Conrads. Fingers crossed they'll be the fat black planks and not those sidecut laden white things Volkl have done to the Goaty.

Hehe, I doubt I will ever ski the M11's again. When you've skied long fat powder skis there's no way you can go back to sidecut laden piste skis whatever the snow conditions Cool

I look forward to debating that with you when you're back, although you'll be pleased to know then that I've just bought some Sugar Daddy's Cool.

And I can't wait to see you skiing the gates on a Monday night on ya Goaty's Shocked.

spyderjon, Hehe, good on you with the Sugar Daddy's Cool
At the beginning of the season I would not have thought my only ski whatever would be a powder ski. Once I learnt how to use them even on hardpack and ice I never looked back. If you want to improve your technique with you doing all the work instead of the ski helping you out with its sidecut then the large turn radius skis are definately the way to go. If their long and fat all the better Cool

spyderjon, Oh yes! Riding sidecut skis was holding me back from advancing in my skiing ability. @bay is going to do well out of me this coming Autumn/Winter Laughing

I'm curious how long till you sell those B5's Wink

spyderjon, You do realise i'm going to be pointing out to you every time I see you lazily riding the sidecut when it could have been you doing the skiing not the B5's Wink Laughing
When I used to ride my M11's I always got the mickey taken out of me by the boys. Seeing as the B5 is the same shape and turn radius I don't see why you should be exempt from having your leg pulled over riding the snowlerblades Laughing

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

rockyrobin, I picked up some with touring bindings at Mountain Air on Sunday, for a very fine price. I know someone else in Verbier who's selling his. Send me a pm and I'll give you his details.

Steve Sparks, Thanks for the heads up & offer to pass on the guys details. I'm afraid the pair I ordered from Conrads have already been dispatched.
Hope you manage to get a few turns in on the goatys before they close the hills lifts back end of the week.

Steve Sparks, Glad you got a good price, but I would not trust Mountain Air to take the wrapper off correctly. Suggest you get the bindings checked independently.
