Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Deep snow immersion kills more skiers and snowboarders in North America each year than avalanches.

This happened to me once and I can tell you it was not pleasant. I was obviously not as immersed as this person as I managed to dig myself out, but the first few seconds, with snow right down into my lungs, and three of my limbs stuck were awful.
To be honest, while I wondered if I'd been going a bit faster could I have been buried deeper and killed, I also thought afterwards that I probably overreacted from the panic of being stuck. Having seen this now I realize perhaps not.
Another reminder, like the video from Le Tour, of why we just should not ski off piste alone, something really really simply could kill you.

@8611, wow, yes its really sobering isnt it.
Last season I skiied into a dip and ended upside down over a small drop, if Scarpa hadnt dug me out Im pretty sure I wouldnt be here now. It was on a route I have often done alone too. A guy died about an hour after me on the other lift was alone

My wife did exactly that skiing the Face at Heavenly with a couple of feet of fresh, I think she naturally open her mouth to "scream", got a mouth full of snow and then proceeded to hyperventilate.
