Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

3 Valleys lunch

Hi all,

We are visiting La Tania next week (4th trip), and would like couple of lunch options outside of the La Tania/Courchevel valley. We tend not to eat out every lunchtime, but when we do we have tended to stick to Courchevel/La Tania and can’t help but feel we may be missing a few gems! Any recommendations of nice (sensible/reasonable-ish) would be much appreciated.

Skimottaret

Nice list if you do update it ...

Sadly the Bergerie is no longer and hasn’t been for some years

I would suggest that Clos Bernard’s speed of service has improved, particularly if you take an early booking. And cost need not be high as long as you stick to mountain fayre

Bouc Blanc above La Tania deserves a mention, not my favourite but a lot of people do like it

Le Blanchot at Meribel Altiport off the Lapin Piste offers really good food and service (new owners) but did not recommend it since it is too tempting to have three courses and blow the budget!

I always hold the Pizzeria de Mottaret as a bad weather option ... good food and prices.

Thanks for replies. We've been to the Bouc Blanc a few times as we stay in La Tania - tend to agree but it is convenient. Will investigate the other suggestions.

Finally, some people who agree with my opinion of the Bouc Blanc! Big portions but not a patch on several places in the Belleville valley.

Would also add that most of the recommendations above will need a reservation in February. Very little chance of just wandering in unless you go early or late.

Two faves that have sadly recently gone are Le Lachenal in St Martin and Les Cretes.

Also Deux Lacs in Val Thorens was decidedly mediocre and overpriced, with no sensibly priced options this year.

These are all nice restaurants but pretty pricey (20€ + mains). Good, cheaper options are La Loy (on the way to St Martin, below St Martin Express); L'Eterlou (in St Martin at the bottom of the drag lift near the church); La Rastro and Zig-Zags (in Meribel-Mottaret past the bottom of the Plattieres 1 lift); Igloo in Les Menuires-Reberty. These all have Plats du Jour at around 15€ but you will probably need to book and get there early to get the dish.

@laurenamy25, Le Corbeleys above St Martin - on the left of the Pelozet run just before you arrive at the bottom of the St Martin Express chair.

La Voute in Saint Martin de Belleville is nice, ski all the way down into the village, kick your skis off, walking 20 meters off the piste into the town and sit down for a nice and reasonably priced lunch.

+1 for Le Corbeleys.

Is L’Ours Blanc, off to the side of the Doron chairlift in Les Menuires, still good? Haven’t been there for several years.
