Poster: A snowHead
|
We’ve just got back from a lovely week in Borovets. It was our second ski holiday.
2 adults and 2 teens so we don’t need childcare but did have ski school, which was great.
3 confident skiers and one slower but competent. I like wide slopes although can do slimmer tree lined if I feel secure!
We live SE so driving is an option.
Budget up to 6k.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@Baxdream, when? What sort of holiday do you want (self catering/first lift to last lift without stopping/full-on pampering)? 6k is a pretty decent budget, will get you a lot out of main school hols and less at peak season.
Provide some more specifics and I'm sure you'll get some suggestions.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Anywhere? You haven't really given a brief. Any ski resort will have a reasonable ski school and some wide slopes. What sort of weather, food, scenery, architecture, lift capacity, accommodation type, mileage of piste, off-piste access etc etc do you like? Do you have a country preference?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Apologies we’re restricted to half term.
So far we’ve been half board. It’s felt quite wasted as we’re not big breakfast people so happy to go sc
Not fussed about architecture etc. We’re going with teens so apres ski is limited. A nice dinner and drinks is as good as it goes.
Not fussed about a pool, used it once this week so was a waste.
Ski in ski out is quite important

Why?
Easter is quite early next year and there is usually some excellent skiing available in the high French resorts. A £6k budget will get you a good chalet or reasnoble hotel. New Year week and half term weeks tends to be busy but Christmas is a good option

Avoriaz would be good.

@Baxdream, With Easter being mid-April this year I'd suggest the large high resorts in France. Drivable, good snow cover that late in the season, plenty of choice as to pistes, plenty of self cater options.
