Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Head Kore boot Last shape

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I've got a pair of Head Vector Evo 130 boots which I had fitted by Colin at Solutions4feet. They're the best boot I've ever had and, after a few punches, they fit and perform amazingly.

I'm now after some touring boots with dynafit inserts for use on Salomon Shift bindings. I'm mainly looking for the "hike to ride" end of the spectrum, not super light. Downhill performance is definitely my focus.

I've seen that Head have the new Kore boots out. I was wondering what the last size and fit is like compared to the Vectors?

Thanks,

D

I should add, I understand that boots can only really be bought after careful trying and fitting by a boot fitter. I'm not going to just buy them off the shelf. I'm just interested in learning more about the various models and working out which boots might be in the shortlist.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Duplo, it is certainly not the same, but it is not massively different either, its a while since i have had my foot in a vector so i can't really describe the exact differences, certainly a little more toe box height

Thanks Colin,

So it might be a goer? What else is similar? (my feet have a narrow heel, wideish forefoot, mid volume, 1st & 5th met bunions).

I'm also probably close to needing new alpine boots a as I've been pretty heavy on the vectors. Are the new vector RS boots the same fit as the old evo?
