Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snow Activity Holiday

Looking to go skiing to Norway/Finland/Sweden to hopefully see Northern Lights and couple of activities as well as the skiing. Recommendations please for easiest and most direct flying (and not too long a transfer) from any London airport. Any advise would be greatly received. Very Happy

We went to Ruka in Finland and had a great time. If I recal it’s less than 30 minutes to the airport. It’s not uncommon (as we had) for apartments to have their own jacuzzi which we loved in the evenings. I also had my handbag returned to me with over £400 in it when I left it in a restaurant. The waitress was more surprised that I was surprised the money hadn’t been taken! We saw some green lights one night which were apparently part of the Aurora Borealis but not spectacular like it had been the week before. It’s the nature of the beast though I guess.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

we went to Yllas in Finland, transfer from Kittalia was about 45 mins. Skiing limited but snow nice. We did husky sledging, then at night skidoo trips and snow shoeing.

Saw the northern lights faintly a couple of times then got lucky with a spectacular display with full range of colours whilst stood in the pitch black on a frozen lake which was amazing. If you go to try and see the northern lights get an app that gives you the probability in your location. They measure solar activity, it takes a couple of days for the particles to arrive so they can give a good idea of when the particles will hit the atmosphere and where. Obviously you need a clear night though !

Look at Crystal ski. From LGW you'll have a good choice. I like Ruka for ski/board and the other reasons as above. Levi would also be an option if you want more ski/board. Yllas very geared up for Lapland & aurora. Seen v good aurora from Ruka itself (obligatory frozen lake), no tour needed.
