Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chamrousse in Spring?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
The Seagraves are trying to capitalise on some domestic enthusiasm and book an inexpensive, driveable late season excursion.

Prices in Chamrousse are low for w/b 30th March - am I right to be suspicious? Never been there before.

I've never been although it's not that far from here. It's the local station for Grenoble. Only goes up to 2250m. I think I'd want somewhere a bit higher tbh.

Generally it is ok through to the end of April at resort level (1750m) thanks to snow making etc and we've ski toured in June from resort in good snow years. March is often very pleasant with warm conditions and south sector pistes. There is not a lot of vertical as Claude points out, 600 meters or so and obviously not a huge ski area but there are lots of other activities besides skiing - a snowshoe hike to the lac Achard would be a treat if you are that way inclined.

Always best to book later at the tail end of the season though if you can.

God, I love that Lac Robert piste, beautiful and secluded.

I reply to the post, I can confirm having been to Chamrousse a lot in Spring time that I can't remember any difficulties really.
