Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The 'bad' old days of snowboarding...

Anyone who was snowboarding back in the 90s will enjoy my interview with Chris Moran, now live as one-off episode of The Ski Podcast:
https://audioboom.com/posts/7477437-the-ski-podcast-special-chris-moran-interview

We talk about how Chris ended up on the cover of the first ever issue of 'White Lines', about his 18 British titles and some of the less-impressive behaviour of the early-snowboarding scene!

Olympics bit was interesting - particularly the ownership of Team GB

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sports peoples' relations with "The Olympics" are never going to be straight forward, but it is a source of cash.
I can't get hugely wound up about what logos they wear on their gear.

I have a Snowboard UK issue #3 from 1992 - was a bit more down to earth I felt, perhaps because of the size of the sport at the time. TWS ended up as a boy-band fanzine but also started out pretty funky, at least from a UK perspective.

Interesting. I remember Chris and Steve Bailey, who he mentions in the interview, from Ski Rossendale which was a real hotbed of freestyle snowboarding talent around the early 90s. There was some really progressive and impressive stuff going on up there, just not so much from me Laughing Thanks for sharing.
