Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi, we have just booked a 5 night hotel stay in OULX (Oberje dla Viere) and got a really good price. We realise that the hotel location is a compromise but we are not interested in apres ski so figured it would be OK, given that the hotel blurb says there that the ski bus stops outside. However, reading some of the reviews on trip advisor, I'm not sure if it is a hotel run service as some reviews seem to imply this (the next door hotel also mentions a ski bus so it makes me think it's not hotel run). Anyway, I'm a bit confused and mildly concerned about our journey up to SAUZE D'OULX!
Can anyone shed any light on this, please?

Thanks- I saw that but was unable to match the places listed on the timetables to the road names in OULX so am still not sure if any buses run all the way down the hill!

@Noo72, What do you count as a bus going all the way down the hill ? I have got the bus between Oulx station and Sauze d'Oulx.
Looking at Google Maps, the bus must go past your hotel, there doesn't seem to be a stop marked there though.

according to the hotels website they run a shuttle once a day (AM there - PM back)
https://www.oberjedlaviere.it/
Google translate
"The Via Lattea ski area is about 2 km away, easily accessible by car, for our guests a free ski shuttle service is available to the Jovenceaux Sauze D’Oulx ski lifts, leaving in the morning and returning in the afternoon."
Given the Hotels location, I suspect the Sauze bus pass the hotel - If it stops is another matter....

Sorry, I meant going down the hill to OULX town, but not as far as the train station- but I need a bus that goes down past Jouvenceux.
The hotel is in Via des Ambrois (so further down the hill than Jouvenceaux but not as far as the main SS24 road).
Rjs, is that bus regular enough to be used as a ski bus, or is it infrequent? I can't see a timetable online- is it a 'town bus' so to speak?

@Noo72, Follow the link in the second post in the thread to see the timetable, or click on one of the "bus stop" icons in Google maps.

Can anyone recommend a shared transfer service from Turin airport to Sauze?
Appreciate it can be done via bus-train-bus for very little (ie 20 euros each way), but it takes quite a while and I don't mind spending more for a door to door shared service.
Oh, it's likely to be on a weekday too.

Try snow.cab ( https://www.snow.cab/) who do transfers from Turin to Montgenevre but also stop in Sauze when reqd

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@Noo72, correct! The bus no longer stops in that part of Oulx. Fingers crossed the shuttle will be fine.
Buses and trains to/ from Sauze inc a video of his to do it via public transport from Turin airport your can find here :
