I've cut a nice V out of the tail of an old board.
What do you reckon would be the best thing to seal it up with? Gorilla 2 part epoxy?

Probably a much less viscous epoxy so it will penetrate the cut fibres. Look for the small sachets usually called "double bubble" but not a quick set glue, more of a laminating resin.
Edit: these used to be readily available but the thin stuffis a bit "thin on the ground". However, found so e here which confirms suitability http://www.rudeskis.com/product/hardman-double-bubble-epoxy/

Makes plenty of sense. Is that similar to anything I can get on the high street?

Araldite 2011 is a flexible type that is used in reputable ski an snowboard repairs but your going to pay more for it than any pound shop stuff obviously .
Jons store has 30ml mixed ie 2x 15ml £8
I dont know gorilla (sold at asda) but its probably just as costly as 2011 with no alpine track record ....2011 has a service track record.
In the local village one man service and rental center ....the tech of decades x decades had the cheaper store type for old rentals but he showed me the 2011 epoxy tucked away in the draw for bespoke repairs .
The tail cut will allow more flex so I cant say from experience but its likely if you use the cheap or wrong epoxy your going to be redoing the job.
Nothing wrong with that though as it promotes expertise and experience.

You probably don't wan't an epoxy as general epoxy is quite brittle and not flexible at all.
Look for a specialised flexible resin. Your best bet is probably a polyester resin of some description.
Edit: Sorry ignore the above, I have had a long day and got muddled up and the wrong way round! Epoxy in general is more flexible than Polyester.

As mentioned above you wan't a long cure time epoxy. Don't be temped with the tubes of 5 minute epoxy it tends to be very weak and brittle.

put some kind of flexible epoxy, two component. Not sure what brand, since it was 3-4 years ago, still holding up.
