Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Our holiday: A repeat trip with 2 powder hungry snowboarding mates to North America (NA). We have toured the Alps extensively and are now looking for new challenges across the pond. Previously in NA we have visited Panorama, Banff, Lake Louise, Whitefish, Fernie, Lake Tahoe, Revelstoke and Kicking Horse

Basics: Heathrow - Seattle - Bozeman with BA/Alaska. First day of a multi resort trip. Initially thought we would be too jetlagged and logistically challenged on day 1 to snowboard, but we were able to squeeze in an afternoon at BB which turned into a good decision.

Lift system : All slow chairs

The snow : It hadn't snowed for a few days and the area was suffering a mild spell. Nevertheless snow was in good condition across the hill with several soft spots still available.

The terrain: Riders right is the steep stuff, accessed from the near vertical at the top Shlasman's 2 seater for which a transceiver is required to board. And steep it is...sphincter tightenly so down some of the chutes from the hike along the top ridge. Comparable or more so with probably the most challenging terrain I have ridden previously, but the snow was soft so great fun. With hard pack or ice I imagine it could be lethal. Riders left side of the area has more mellow terrain with well spaced trees which would be a laugh and a half on a powder day.

The resort : No accommodation at the base, just a lodge and a bar. Bozeman is 40mins drive away.

Food: We had a basic typical NA self service lunch in the lodge which was fine for what it was

Costs: The hill is run as not for profit consequently lift tickets are very reasonable by NA standards. We paid circa $50 for a 3.5hr afternoon pass.

Conclusion: Small but good value and varied terrain for all abilities. Would be great fun on a powder day. Worth a visit.

hd, Sssh - suggest you amend your report - its a rubbish ski area, flat boring and over priced. Madeye-Smiley
Got any good pics ?

We went a couple of seasons ago as part of a road trip - managed to get there after the biggest storm so far of that season.
2ft + of fresh stuff and blue skies - really horrible Toofy Grin

Full day ticket was only $60 so extremely good value, and the drive is easy from Bozeman. Planning on heading back possibly next season. Oh and Ghost Town coffee, is pretty decent if you like coffee.
