Poster: A snowHead

I'm in morillon from 5th Feb to 8th Feb and considering getting an instructor on one morning for a few hours.
Can anyone recommend an English speaking instructor for beginner?
Cheers

Hi Graeme
I have an apartment in Morillon and can't say many good things about ESF, although that was for the kids skiing rather than boarding. Some of the ones I have seen on a board seem fairly average boarders skills wise (probably ski instructors jobbing on boards for the day) but that doesn't mean they wouldn't be effective instructors for the beginner level.
Personally I would try ZigZags in Samoens and see if they will meet you over in Morillon.
kind of biased but its a great resort - Marvel run is brilliant, its a green and I have been riding 30+ yrs yet I can still get a buzz out of it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm not aware of any BASI instructors working in Morillon. Some of the guys in Morzine/Les Gets might be willing to come over for a decent booking (it's not far), you could check with Real Snowboarding or Mint.
For a beginner, I'm sure any of the local schools would be fine.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Been a good while, but one of our group used zigzag after having issues with ESF, and found them very good - but that was in Samoens.

Yeah was looking at Marvel - always a little wary of green runs as have been stuck on some long flats before.
I was staying in Flaine a few weeks back and came down to Morillon 1100 but avoided (snow wasn't great either) going lower.
Any parts of Marvel I should watch out for or need to get some speed up for if I try it?
cheers

@Themasterpiece,
I have found ZZ will come to Morillon anytime outside the peak 2 week holiday period in Feb.

@GraemeRB,
Couple of little flat bits on Marvel - right at the start and right at the very end. Nothing that needs a push if you carry a wee bit of speed.
The main problem really is that it is a great run to hit at full speed but as it’s a beginner run you need to pick a time when it’s quiet.
