Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Budget Easter locations?

Where would you take the family skiing for a few *cheap* rolling eyes days at Easter (10th April ish onwards) ?? There are cheap flights to GVA with Easyjet but I am conscious that Austria is usually way cheaper on the mountain. With 2 adults and 3 kids the lift passes mount up - is there anywhere that discounts ski passes at this time ?

Accommodation and lift pass costs aren't that different. Beer and lunches on the mountain are cheaper in Austria but there's more choice of cheap piste side apartments in France. If you can go back to your apartment for lunch and some apres ski drinks, especially with kids, you'll spend a lot less than you would on an Austrian mountain. Tignes Val Claret would not be a bad bet - and there are some reductions for family lift passes, though no huge savings. The other way to save money with 5 of you is to drive rather than fly - even if you can get cheap flights, transfers are always quite a bit extra.

Do check out the Spring Families Bash (SFab) which works out at around £600 for bed and a week's lift pass, for a week in Val Thorens. Admin has just put the buttons up.

And I second @pam w's suggestion of driving with a large family. I've done it (2 adults, 4 children) and it helps with self-catering because we can bring along a cool box full of pre-prepared meals and do a good value shop on the way rather than relying on a small supermarket in resort.

Yes, Val Thorens a great late season location.

@pablito69, it depends on their ages. In France kids are normally charged adult rate from 13. Below that they are cheaper but not massively so. Most resorts do a family pass though. But here only for 6 or 7 day passes. Info https://www.les2alpes.com/en/ski-pass-family-tribe.html

Good skiing here at Easter, plenty of cheap accommodation, prices are less than many of the other big resorts. About 3 hours from Geneva.

Thanks all, Tignes and Les2Alpes are great ski areas and I'd love to take the kids there, will have to look at joining the Spring Families Bash if we can though as that would suit our dates perfectly! Very Happy
