Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski hire Chamonix

Hi all
I'm heading to Argentiere tomorrow for a few days. I'm keen to hire a pair of Black Crows Navis with a view to buying at a later date.
I know Black Crows originate from Chamonix so will these be freely available to hire or does anyone know a rental shop which will definitely stock these?

Navis freebird will be more readily available than the normal Navis. I don't actually know of a shop that stock normal Navis (I have these skis as my daily driver so would tend to notice). You can go to the Black Crows store directly though I think. Namaste sports or Sanglard might be your best bet.

Black Crows pointed me to Hurycana Sports in Argentiere who have confirmed they have them.

Yes hurycana is the place I would have recommended to go. Bought a few pairs there (though normally at end of season when 30 or 40 percent off). They are nice people in there. If you don’t know it is a few hundred meters before you get to the round about at the start of the car park - so not really Argentiere. Right hand side of the main road.

I think the legend mountain bike place in town (off avenue aguille de midi) also have the full freebird range though not sure they do rental.
