Poster: A snowHead

hi Snowheads
We are driving down on weds 1st April from Folkestone to Les Arc. Last time we drove was at half term and we went via Annecy and stopped there, which was a great move as me got away from the busy HT traffic en route down. However, this time, we don't think it will be that busy... does any one have a suggestion for a stopover around Lyon for two adults and two children (they could top and tail in a single if needed).
Thank you

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Bit further north but we usually overnight in Beaune on the way down. There are hotels to suit all budgets and loads of restaurants to chose from.
Have a look at the Grand Saint Jean. Decent rooms in the town centre and very secure parking

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We just drive until we want to stop or pick town to visit on the way and pull off the MW and just drive about until you find a hotel, can aways google to find one if you dont spot one, the trouble with booking one and if you have a problem or are ahead of schedule you are committed, far more fun to wing it

We stayed in the Novotel in Beaune a few years. As it was snowy, and we'd had along drive I just wanted to get in and have a decent dinner and the food and wine list were very good indeed. But in April, nights are lighter, unlikely to have snowy/icy weather, so much easier. @rdsweb, is right it is a really lovely town. Accor Group are pretty good for family rooms.
