Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Serre Chevalier lift passes

Just about to purchase 2 adult and 1 junior (sadly same price) lift passes for Serre Chevalier, is there a better route than through, their app at €264 each?

In case it makes any odds, I will most likely buy my parents senior ones at the same time.

@NickyJ - Have a look at the Serre Che Holiski pass (google it). Dependant on how many days you are skiing, and also which days of the week (eg Saturdays are cheaper) they can work out cheaper than buying a week’s pass. They also have the advantage that if you don’t ski any day for any reason you don’t pay for that day.

@NickyJ, no discounts through your accommodation provider? I can get a small discount through my apartment manager on peak season passes, and larger ones off-peak.
Family pass is for 2 adults and 2 kids so if you are only taking one, then no discounts available. I'm sure you can do the maths, but need to ski for 9 days to make the Holiski pass worthwhile if you ski every day. There is a cost per pass before you even start to use it.

That’s not quite correct. Yes, you do have to pay for the Holiski pass upfront (29 euros for an adult, but you can also get 6 euros off this if someone ‘refers you’), but Holiski also have special offer (Super Promo) days on pricing - eg the 18/19 and 25th Jan are all priced at 31 Euros per day instead of the normal Holiski price of 44.10 Euros per day. If you are fortunate enough to be skiing on those days the Holiski pass works out at more or less exactly the same price as buying a 6 day pass (26+31+31+44.10+44.10+44.10+44.10 for Holiski = 264.40) - with the added benefit that if you choose not to ski for a day you don’t pay for the pass for that day. All Saturdays are also discounted by about 10% with Holiski. Of course if you do ski more regularly the benefits accrue as you get every 9th day skiing for 1 Euro. There is also a cut off point when it becomes cheaper to have a season pass rather than use Holiski (somewhere in the region of 21 days skiing in a year, I’m always very borderline about whether Holiski or a season pass is best for me!).

My youngest had a got her lift pass through the ski school, but eldest although in lessons is to high a level to get a discounted lift pass through them. However she is also 13 so has to pay adult rate.

Accommodation provider can get a a €4 lift pass discount ... for that I am inclined to just book through their app as that gives me free cancellation (just in case there are any issues...did I mention Mum broke her ankle the day we arrived at SFaB????)

Thanks for the suggestion about Holiski might have been worth it if our April trip was to an included resort but that is to La Thuile. Need to look into this sort of thing for next season though!

Not helpful for OP as you need to buy 4+ passes to get discounts but maybe helpful for others.

I've also been looking for cheap SC lift passes. We're a group of 10 and this is the only way (so far) i've worked out to get them cheaper.

Buy 5 day passes here https://www.ouik-serrechevalier.ski/home and then buy a 1 day lift pass at the start or end day of the holiday. Depending when you buy the individual passes, first or last day may be cheaper so try both before buying.

I've emailed them and asked if I can just buy 6 day passes from them instead of 5+1 but they won't allow it.

Also asked if you get the free day in another resort but no reply yet...

@flashback, I suspect not. It is only the Grand Galaxie pass (or whatever they call it now) of 6 days or more that has the day in another resort included.

Just been speaking to my Italian neighbour and they get their day passes at €30 as members of some Italian ski club and similar discounts for other stations, suppose I should find out more rolling eyes

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
