Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Head V Shape V 10

This looks like a ski I might enjoy (short radius all mountain light weight). Anyone tried them? Can you get them flat as I use touring boots and I don’t think they will fit in the Head bindings?

@BertieG, as far as I know the V shape series all have a system binding. I looked at them last year when I was after new piste skis but the binding wouldn't take a WTR sole so crossed them off the list.

The Head V Shape V 10 is not available in the flat. The Scott Slight 83 is a better option in every respect IMO plus it only comes in the flat and is available from your local Scott dealer or from a dodgy scouse bloke in the East Midlands wink. I've sold/mounted loads of Slight 83's for guys'n'gals using AT boots etc.

@mgrolf, @spyderjon, thanks, I currently have the Slight 93 which I’m loving and was interested in going a bit narrower and the Slight 83 was on the radar. Would like to hear from anyone who has skied them.
At 70 kg and for short/medium turns 170 or 177cm ?

The 83 skis just like the 93 but narrower so is a tad faster edge to edge. Construction and geometry is the same. If you already have the 93's then I can't see the benefit of the 83's unless you are then planning to swap the 93's for a wider ski to make a two ski quiver with greater seperation.

Like many skiers I have worked my way up the width spectrum peaking at the Icelandic Shaman which I keep for off piste trips. Now slowly working back down the waist sizes for piste biased holidays, starting with the Volkl 90 eight and more recently the Slight 93. Normally only take one pair away at a time. On one short break last year we had a big dump and was surprised at how good the Slights were. Curiosity has me wondering how narrow can you go and still have a good time in deep snow?
My guess is the sweet spot for a true all mountain ski is probably 88-93 but I do like a ski that’s quick edge to edge.

My Blizzard zero G 85's work just fine in all powder. Bit more tricky when conditions lean more towards crust.
