Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone used this ski servicing outfit before? If so can you recommend? http://batterseaski.co.uk/
I've not come across him before, but being reasonably local to me I thought I might get a quick edge & wax in before my cheeky trip to Sauze on 9th Dec.
I noticed he lists SCGB as partners on his website Shocked

Also, as this is my first pair of owned skis (I used to only rent in resort as didn't like the idea of lugging skis on planes etc - I've gotten over that now!), would you say that a hand service is better than a machine service? I skied 6 days on them from new last season but this will be their first service.

The alternative is to use a shop in resort, but we won't be getting into town until late evening and want to get first lift... but if anyone has recommendations for the best ski service in Sauze d'Oulx please do share (Besson Sport is probably the nearest for us).

I think the chap in charge of it has posted on here before, but I would be interested in hearing about anyone's experiences too.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've used Joe for my board servicing the last few years. Always been pleased with the result and he is a nice guy. I'll be dropping a couple off again in a few weeks

Joe's a great guy and very capable. Hand servicing is the way to go and base grinds should be avoided unless the skis actually need it due to excessive concavity &/or lack of structure. The standard of in-resort servicing is generally poor.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Likewise he has serviced my skis for the last couple of seasons, I have been very pleased. He has offered a small discount for snowHeads as well.

Having got the snowHead endorsement I was looking for, I’m pleased to report that Joe did a great job on my skis and I had a brilliant few days bombing around empty pistes and powder in Sauze last week Toofy Grin
