Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hotel Recommendations Grenoble Airport

Need to pick up 2 of our party from Grenoble Airport enroute from the UK early on in the season. Any recommendations on hotels that are a 30 minute or so drive. As its the missus and myself don’t mind too much about cost (100 euro mark) but as we’ll be doing the drive in one go any place where we can decompress with a couple of drinks and a reasonable meal after a long day would be a bonus.

There's not a lot near the airport, save a couple of 'guest houses'. I would go for somewhere in Grenoble city centre and see the sights. I'm sure @Davidoff will be along to advise on the highlights

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It depends on the time too. The traffic around and in Grenoble can be horrendous at rush hours. Even more so on transfer days during the winter.

There's a Novotel near Voreppe, before Grenoble, not too far from the airport, which ought to be comfortable with a bar, restaurant, etc. I've passed it but have no personal knowledge of the place.

@brovert, a bit further North, there's quite a good selection around Anse and Villefranche. Have a look at the Logis de France website. We were unexpectedly walking around Sassenage on the outskirts of Grenoble a few weeks ago , and there were a couple of hotels there.

Ended up staying at Hôtel la Commanderie de Champarey. About 30 minutes before Grenoble airport just past Lyon. What a gem. Quirky but comfortable and spacious rooms, quiet, excellent restaurant, comfy bar and good quality breakfast. Highly recommended.

have stayed here a few times http://hotellafermedethoudiere.fr/ its 5 minutes from the airport. Found it fine for overnight stay before departure, and has a wonderful breakfast, the lady who runs it will even give you a lift to the airport if required.
