Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mounting PEs...

So, I went in to Ellis Brigham MK on Saturday to get my Rossi bindings put on my Public Enemies. (was going to go to Beans, but they didn't have a Rossi jig)
I walked in and asked their ski tech to mount them.
No problem, that'll be 20 quid.
Smile
(so, total price for skis + bindings + mounting around 270quid, while EB are doing the skis on their own for 310 in the sale)

Anyway, the guy says "where do you want the bindings put?"
...and before I have time to answer he is showing me and explaining how K2 twin tips are marked with a core centre and a mid sole mark, and then measured marks at 0.25cm each in between.
Having been on the Campbell Dynamic Balance, I know the answer, but he's still explaining why. I then say 1.75cm forward of mid sole. He looks a bit surprised. So while he's working that one out, I tell him I want the DIN set to 8.

I'm not sure where in the conversation, but there was definitely a moment when he realised that it was just possible that a punter had walked into his shop, and knew exactly what was needed.

(anyway, while he was doing that, I went and bought a Crate acoustic amp, but that's probably not something for the equipment review section here...)

I presume that you'd already sussed how the mid sole mark compared to the CRS wink.

JT, nah, this is just a cheap amp that I don't mind getting switched off at the mains etc. I only use valves for my Pensa.

spyderjon, yeah, the measurement was to 2cm, I think, but the nearest he could get my Heads was 1.5, which is also where I have the Seths mounted, but I just thought I'd go a bit closer with these ones.
