Poster: A snowHead

Does anyone have any recommendations for online technique videos ?
My wife is keen to crack carving this year and I caught her watching a random vid on YouTube but it looked a bit rubbish.
This is the first time she has ever looked for tips outside of normal lessons so I am keen to help her out.
I did find loads of videos by elate media - https://www.youtube.com/user/elatemedia
And they also offer an ios app (which you have to pay for). https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/ski-school-beginners/id394635897
Gets good reviews.
Before I get her started on the vids , can anyone say if they are really any good ?
And has anyone used the app and liked it ?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@sheffskibod, those Elate Media videos, Darren Turner is the instructor who does them, are good. The app doesn't add much beyond the videos, but it's a convenient way of having the whole package on the hill. Plus Darren gets a bit of cash for his efforts.

@sheffskibod, there are some technique videos, including a decent off piste programme, on amazon prime video if you have it, not sure of the name off hand, as I am out of the house at the moment, but sure it would be easy to find it (I did ).
It is filmed in Chamonix, though I would say it is from the early 00's, as few people are wearing helmets compared to today and slightly dated, I think it has something to do with the SCGB, it is a british production, but I could be wrong.
cheers

The "Skiing Skills" series, done by BASI a few years ago. Presented by Peter Hart, with Sean Langmuir, Amanda Pirie and Deirdre Angella doing the instruction.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@sheffskibod, Darren's vids are really well done and he also injects some humour.
Mate of mine who has been snowboarding for years has 5 or 6 x 3hr lessons booked with him from Jan 19th staying with me to learn to ski so that will be really interesting to see what he's like come the end of the week.

@sheffskibod, The problem with YouTube vids is that they get jumbled up in one's head. Overthinking can be confusing.
The app would help in that one can just focus on a single vid or drill at the top of the hill. Once that's sorted, move on to the next vid/drill.
It's a better way to learn IMHO than passively watching vids all in one go.

Darren Turner's videos (Elate Media) on carving are among the clearest and most succinct that I have seen on the subject - especially number 6.2.
After showing them to several skiing friends, it is clear that Darren gets his teaching points over very well and that "recreational holiday skiers" are able to put them into practice.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
