Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New UK-Helsinki-Sapporo flight

Not sure if this has been highlighted here, but there is a new flight option for anyone thinking of making a visit to any of the Hokkaido resorts. Fly from London, Manchester or Edinburgh to Sapporo, with a change in Helsinki. Having done the London-Toyko-Sapporo route a few times this new Finnair seems like a better option, although you'd miss the opportunity for a bit of sightseeing in Tokyo on the return journey.

Thanks, looks like a route worth considering in the future (if the price is right!). Helsinki is a good connection point for flying to Japan as it's pretty much en-route, so doesn't increase flying time by very much.

Finnair are great, we used them a few years back to get to Sapporo(two stops that time, Helsinki and Nagoya).
Flight back delayed by 12 hours(not so good) but they were great sorting out the compo

You can't see further ahead than November but it's about £550 return with two pieces of baggage. According to their website this can include one pair of skis and kit, max weight 23kg and max length 220cm. This would count as a single piece.

So not wildly different to BA then in terms of price and still a stopover, I've not been through Helsinki, but found Tokyo super efficient.
