Poster: A snowHead

I was wondering if anyone is aware of whether the telecabin parking at Morillon is free; and whether it's plentiful? Similarly interested in the GME carpark. Ta.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Ordinarily they've always been no charge, so unless anything has changed recently it should be such.
Morillon base village, the carpark is opposite the lift and away behind the buildings, only a couple of hundred metres but not quite so obvious if you're looking right next to lift terminal.
Reasonable sizes too, but weekend with proximity to Geneva etc you'll want to arrive promptly, and multiply accordingly if there's huge snow arrived. In the week they're usually fine for capacity.
Also, carpark at Morillon 1100 at entry to village, a fair size but popular so the earlys get it if you're one of those.
Morillon base also has a fun bar opposite the lift to end the day there if in a group of that interest.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@ski3, Thanks, Ski3. We're going to be in les Mieux (Sp?) for a month and the ski bus is about 500m away. So that's useful. Don't fancy a half a km in ski boots.

That'll be nice having the time to explore the area as well.
We've spent quite a bit of time skiing GM with Morillon being our favourite entry point, some great skiing home sector at day's end as well.
Also very good place for lunch at 1100, "Le Beu" on the pistes just immediately above the chair lift.
When are you staying there?
If you want somewhere local to have an alternative day, then Praz d Lys is close by car and thoroughly worth a look. Doesn't attract much attention from here, but some good skiing and on mountain places to eat ( bit of a theme there for us ) again really easy to park right next to the snow there.
Although underanewname thought the road there could be closed, so needs checking to see.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

All of March, but cos we're still new to skiing and nuts on it, we're squeezing in a week at Carroz in Jan too! (Carroz made sense due to having to get season passes as the cheapest option for the month) Have fancied Praz d Lys for ages, and we plan to do a view day-trips in March, so now it's officially on the list!

let's keep it a secret!
You could still get in from the Sommand side (huge car park) via Mieussy. However the normal road via the Pont des Gets should be open from Monday according to skipass.com

@Charliegolf, We’ve been to GM four times now and I’ve always been able to find space to park at both Morillon and Samoens. Both stations have a drop off zone right by the lift so you can drop passengers and all your kit then go off and park and walk back.

When we were working in Morillon and Carroz we were rarely at the car park before late morning/early afternoon and always parked at the bottom of Morillon or in the main Carroz car park with no problem.
