Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just letting SH's know, if you go on the Osprey sight, and register, you can get access to their "second life" section. These are new bags that have needed a repair (always done perfectly) or ex samples or such. They are, to all intents and purposes new bags, yet often 1/2 price or less. We have had 3 bags before from this section, always perfect. At the moment, they have quite a few ex sample Kamber and Kresta bags for £40 +£10 p+p. If you buy 2 bags, it is still just £10. Might make a good christmas present? Hope that is useful for someone. Despite secondlife selling, still get Osprey warranty.

£80 for a backpack goodness me...

At the other end of the scale, I paid £8 for this one at Costco - I use it for hiking up mountains in the summer and skiing down them in the winter. It's a perfect size and has never let me down.

Great find!

I've been looking for a new backpack that I can use for both snowboarding (to carry my board if needed) and regular use during the rest of the year just so it doesn't feel like I'm wasting money on a backpack that I only use for a few weeks a year.

Torn between specific backpacks like the Osprey Kamber 22, Burton Day Hiker 25 and Dakine Heli Pro 24, or to just get a more regular rugged backpack like a North Face Borealis/Jester/whatever and just put my snowboard horizontally behind my back if I ever need to use it for that purpose. Some of the snow specific ones are built to be functionally more useful for ski/boarding whereas I'd want it to be practical for day to day life too.

Getting a Kamber 22 half price would be great though - shame they don't have any!
