Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

According to Whois the domain was only registered on 28th November (with all registrar data redacted) and the contact email domain (gaterliv.com) doesn't exist, so I'd be cautious. I got caught out a month ago by a similar site but used a credit card so got my money back quite easily, but I was a bit concerned they'd got all my card details (which my bank assured me they hadn't - don't know how they knew but they seemed very confident).

@MikeM, Most (depends how they do it) online shops use a payment gateway, so you're actually giving your card details to visa/worldpay/paypal etc., not myscamshop.com

Yes, that would explain it as I paid via a legitimate third party. Probably why it was so easy to get my funds returned.

1000% scam
It's cookie cutter site, and they didn't even bother to finish filling in the "about us" details. They forgot to even put the company name in the placeholder spots, and the text is nothing to do with the kind of thing the shop "sells". Social media links don't even go to "their" pages.
No details of even which country it's based in, but they're "open" from 8am to 6pm in "a" timezone somewhere.
Looks almost exactly like the last 3 sites I checked that someone asked if it was real.
Search enough and you'll find 10 more nearly identical sites pretending to be a different brand name that you heard of, and/or identical version pretending to be in US/UK/EU just to get convincing looking currency. 15-20 day delivery... wtf?
(viewed in incognito, with shields up, from a Linux machine just in case there was some windows malware)

just googled half a sentence of text from the "about us " page, and Google returns the exact same thing for numerous sites. Some with the www.xxxxxx name inserted in the placeholders.
At least the first 50 results were for 50 different websites, all identical apart from name.
so make that 1 million % scam

@davidof, ah, think you misread the question then. You meant "yes" I think.
