Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Very good report. I was in Selva at the end of Feb and absolutely loved it - already booked to go back next year.

saikee, I saw from the other thread that you stayed outside of Selva? I never got to try the underground funicular across from St. Christina (Even though I did ski the Saslong down there) to the ski area on the other side? Is it any good? Some good runs. I think you owe a trip report too to fill in the blanks on the Selva side in more details Cool

Good Report. I went in Jan 2006 with Inghams. Stayed in the Sport Hotel. I really must recommend this hotel and it's only 2 mins from the main lifts.

Scenery is awesome. Went with a group of veterans who've done all the major resorts and they couldn't believe it.

We've already booked for Selva next year (Arabba is a little quite for a group of guys) but i'll be looking to go again with the missus.

Hoppo, MUST go back to the Dolomites (I've skiied there twice, a long time ago, once from Selva and once from Canazei, though have done quite a lot of summer walking more recently from a beatiful base in the Val de Funes.) Aren't those mountains just stunning?! Wonderful photos.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Roy and Hurtle, we're off out to Selva February half term (fancied a shorter transfer and a busier town). The scenery is spectacular and photography is mainly just a case of waving your camera in approximately the right direction - can't go wrong!

Hoppo, Which GPS and maps were you using when you went around the Sella Ronda? Puzzled

Stayed in Arraba back in 2005 and thought it was very quiet. The skiing was great and loved going down the Hidden Valley and from the top of the Marmolada Glacier. Much prefer Corvara as a base but its gone to expensive now and only Neilson seem to go there. Inghams did go there for 1 season then they dropped it out. Mad

surfski, completely useless info for you now and you've probably seen it elsewhere... but my GPS system was a Dell Axim x51v PDA + a cheap bluetooth GPS device and noniplotgps (some freeware for capturing tracks). I don't use a maps (since I'm capturing for labelling photos rather than navigation. Nowadays I use a Garmin GPS60, which is much more rugged and easy to use but has a smaller memory so the plot resolution isn't quite so good.

magic_hat, nice report, glad you made it through that blizzard, sounded really nasty, and then frustrating to find out there was an easier way. Now you're a Dolomite convert, you'll have to go back and discover some more. snowHead
