Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So we couldn't get to Corfu as planned, so thoughts are turning to using this week off for a spot of early family skiing in Europe snowHead . Any ideas?

Do you believe in love at first sight? Not that it should be a decision for life, but at least a decision for a fulfilled ski season. So play it safe and test the brand new models of 13 top ski and 15 top snowboard brands at the ski test on Saas-Fee's famous glacier ski resort. You can test the skis and snowboards as often, as long and as extensively as you want during 2 to 5 test days (Friday - Tuesday) - with expert advice! True to the motto: Therefore check who binds himself eternally.

We've done a few Austria glacier tours during October half term. You could do a couple of days at Sölden, 2 at Stubai and 2 at Hintertux, with only a couple of hours driving (max) between each of them.

And accommodation is really easy to find - and very reasonably priced. It's a doddle to book on the internet these days, though when we first went we used to just turn up and knock on doors. We never had any problems finding anywhere (reasonably priced) to stay.

And we've not had anything other than very good conditions in October either Very Happy . It's a great time of the year to ski and I would definitely recommend it - particularly if you fancy a road trip. Very Happy

FIS World Cup starts next weekend at Sölden too. Although that will restrict what is available to ski of course but would be a big party!
