Thanks for those. Gives a wonderful perspective of the range from this side. Not often you get to see such a complete picture.

@jbob, some of my full time resident chums had a ski down the Vallee Noir a couple of days ago in perfect powder. Then turned round above the Geant Icefall and skinned back up to the lift.

@HammondR, like it, upside down touring. Don’t know if skinning up in perfect powder would be so appealing. I do love how creative and adventurous people can be.
If the steps are out of commission has anyone done a none extreme option onto the Toula.

Great shots - can I ask are the two faces of Mont blanc visible in first photo, in the shade and on the left of photo the italian sides? That looks like the famous aiguille blanche de peutrey lines to the left of the ridge.
Am I right in thinking that is the west face, but is in italy?

@8611, totally shady side is N face, half- shade / half-sunny side is Brenva (E) face... Blanche de Peuterey is visible before left edge of photo.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@offpisteskiing, thanks, so the next one, in full sun is the south face? Are the east and south face in italy? For some reason I thought the west face was too and when you look at Google maps maybe it is

East (Brenva), South (Inominata), West are all in Italy, the West face drains into the Glacier del Miage
