Anyone got any recommendations?
Want it to cover the passengers (personal injury) rather than normal vehicle insurance .

I thought this was offered as part of the standard or optional insurance offered by the rental company? We have WW personal liability cover included as part of our home insurance FWIW.

@Rom77, Why would you need additional insurance for a minibus but not a car? Or are you providing it as a service?

Will you be charging people for their transfers? That raises lots of extra complications.

@Rom77, If you are organising it, and charging, 1. you probably need a different driving licence, 2. a normal hire company probably won't let you hire and 3. you most definitely will need all sorts of other insurances...
And just cos it's a club doesn't mean you aren't charging for it.

If you are being paid then you may need public liability insurance. For myntaxi 30 years ago that was about £800 p.a.
But if someone else in the group is paid and you drive then you should be fine.

Hi, thanks for the replies.
So basically, we had an idea of running a club or group trip.
We’d be charging for sorting out accommodation, transfer etc.
For the transfer part wed be hiring a minibus but need adequate insurance (we have the correct licences).
Can anyone point me in the right direction to who I could talk to for advice on the transfers bit?

@Rom77, it is quite complex, not only will you need the correct drivers licence, licence to drive a taxi in France and another for one in Switzerland you will also need another licence to operate in/around the Geneva Airport, a licence to operate a transport company all held by a French Company..... and that's as it stands today, who knows how it'll be after the 31st.
In the old days if you had a minibus you could run your clients to/from the airport not charge them but include it in the cost of their holidays, that was until the Swiss Taxi drivers started kicking off, now it simply isn't worth it, some chalets/Tour operators have jumped through the hoops but the majority hung up their driving gloves and sub contracted out to the Transfer companies.
If you're serious then you need to be speaking to one of the specialist accountants in the Alps; Egglestone, Sareg et al.

Whilst private hire may seem cost effective, as it is not FREE, it is viewed as a paid service, so you would need to comply with all the same rules as other Transfer providers, with whom you are effectively competing.
Like others have said, just bite the bullet and engage the services of a Transfer firm.
